Our Work

The Reggio Emilia Montessori Center is a learning community committed to supporting the development of young children. Our mission is to contribute to the overall wellness and development of society, and to provide quality social and educational services to families in our community. Our work is carried out primarily through building and implementing early childhood education centers and preschools. We were founded in 2020, and opened our doors to families for the first time in 2021 as the Blue Playhouse in Flatbush, Brooklyn.

The Reggio Emilia Montessori (REM) Collective was founded by our team to expand our not for profit work within communities in NYC. Through REM we seek to understand community needs and contribute to the overall wellness, growth and development of society. We provide free and low cost social and educational services to communities in the Bronx and Brooklyn. We are committed to creating access to quality social services, reducing economic inequality, and promoting sustainable practices in urban communities.
